Challenges of Food Security in Africa and the Way Forward
Over the past decades, Africa has benefitted from a wide range of new technologies and interventions from both internal and external development assistance seeking to improve the chances of the continent feeding itself. Although it cannot be denied that some progress have been made in certain areas, the reality today is that a high number of Africans still remain vulnerable to hunger. The paper examines why this food security challenge still persists and how it can be overcome.
