Competency Analysis of the Executive Directors of NGOs in Bangladesh

Non-government organizations are contributing to the overall development of underdeveloped countries and developed countries too. Especially, in Bangladesh, after the independence, NGOs are contributing to various areas of development (Jakia, Hosain, & Hossin; 2020) (Barai, M. K. ed.; 2020). If we start with the Gonosastho Kendro, we can easily say that this organization brought a revolution in community medicine, public health, infant morbidity reduction, and maternal health. Diakonia is the first organization registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau under Prime Minister’s Office and contributed to the sectors of women empowerment, gender justice, and promotion of human rights. To note, one can thank BRAC for its extraordinary contribution in the sectors of education, banking, higher education, microfinance, women empowerment, gender diversity, tuberculosis control and prevention, and mass awareness. Grameen Bank has been awarded Nobel Peace Prize for its work in empowering rural women and delivering poor-centered micro-credit and social business (Roy, Raquib, & Sarker; 2017)
