Competition Policy and Law in Latin America; from Distributive Regulations to Market Efficiency

This paper provides an overview of recent developments regarding the regulation of competition in Latin America with a special emphasis on the convergence and divergence of the various regimes. It reviews the regulatory framework of competition and addresses the substantive rules applicable to competition. It also examines the law enforcement system including administrative bodies, procedures, sanctions, and judicial reviews. Finally it provides a short discussion on enforcement standards relating to competition as well as offering final comments
