One of the most immediate effects of the adoption of microcomputing hardware was more rapid adoption of new econometric estimation techniques. Easier development and maintenace of large-scale modeling systems for individual economies also became feasible. Greater flexibility in analyzing major policy innovations such as the Brady initiative for international debt relief also occurred.
