Constitutional Reform, Transition and Preventing Violence : An Assessment of Kenya’s New Constitution in Light of the Need for Political and Peaceful Transformation
This paper examines Kenya's 2010 constitution from the perspective of whether and how it can remedy problems of political violence. It is argued that the constitution does entail some important changes, including reforms of the system of governance, judicial reforms, decentralization. However, the paper concludes that these reforms will have little value if not followed by a change in the political culture
