Contemporary approach to enhanced road transport system in Nigeria through the application of IT-based (online) bus ticketing and payment system

The world is trending towards IT based technologies and Nigeria as a country is not left behind. The nature of transport needs makes it a key player in any viable economy. Owing to the possibilities that IT offers and the need for improved services (ticketing and otherwise) in the transport sector it is proper to look at what exists currently in the country and what steps could be taken based on current findings. This study looks at the existing ticketing systems, makes comparison with contemporary approaches to ticketing, draws information from other materials, journals, investigations and makes recommendations based on the findings. It further suggest a theoretical model for the Nigerian road transport system. -- contemporary approach ; road transport system ; IT-based bus ticketing and payment system
