Corporate Governance in the Financial System of Bulgaria (1898-1947)

The dynamics of corporate governance in the financial system reflects the economic development of Bulgaria. The creation and implementation of corporate governance practices in Bulgaria are borrowed from the experience of other countries. With the development of the national economy, corporate governance practices acquire a specific character. It can be bold to say that we have given something to the world - a Bulgarian type of corporate governance. The monograph examines the dynamics of corporate governance in the Bulgarian financial system. The analysis of participants and tools in corporate governance defines the leading function of direct application of foreign experience. The emergence of the shareholding companies in Bulgaria is determined by the inflow of foreign capital. The dynamics of the national financial system goes through three stages, which coincide with the development of the European financial system. Parallel to this, Bulgarian practice marks its own achievements, which gives grounds for claiming a specific, national character of corporate governance
