Das Innovationsgeschehen in NRW – Eine Analyse der forschungsaktiven Sektoren
Die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von Unternehmen im Allgemeinen sowie die Forschungs- und Innovationsaktivitäten im Besonderen sind sehr stark durch sektorale und marktspezifische Zusammenhänge bestimmt. Die Unterschiede im Wettbewerbsverhalten und bei Innovationen zwischen Branchen und Märkten stellen daher eines der großen Themengebiete sowohl der industrie- als auch der innovationsökonomischen Literatur dar. Gerade im angloamerikanischen Sprachraum wurde dem branchenspezifischen Zugang zu Fragen der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit eine wichtige Rolle beigemessen. So hat die Sloan-Foundation bereits seit Anfang der neunziger Jahre ein umfangreiches Programm zu Industriestudien finanziert, an dem Wissenschaftler von 26 US- amerikanischen Hochschulen beteiligt sind (www.sloan.org/programs/ IndustryStudies.shtml, Abruf vom 17.
