Developing Dynamic Web Applications for Managing Information Using Open-Source Technologies

Nowadays it is very common to design Web pages without advanced knowledge. Solutions at hand to use, in this purpose, are MsFrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver, which require minimal knowledge of HTML. For interactive Web multimedia presentations, designers use technologies such as XHTML or SMIL, Java Applets and client script (VBScript, JavaScript). All these technologies allow the design of informative presentations for common users, but to create dynamic web content for managing information, it is necessary to master server scripting languages like PHP, ASP.
