Die Berufsbilder der "Social Media Manager" und "Mediaplaner" : nachwuchswissenschaftliche Impulse

Um die Aufgaben im Berufsalltag sowie die Anforderungen an Berufseinsteiger im Social Media Marketing bestmöglich zu elaborieren, wird zunächst eine Inhaltsanalyse entsprechender Stellenanzeigen durchgeführt. Eine qualitative Befragung von Stelleninhabern baut ergänzend darauf auf. Aus der Kombination der empirischen Untersuchungsmethoden ergibt sich folgendes idealtypisches Bild eines Social Media Managers: Der vielfältige Social Media Manager kann bestenfalls ein Bachelor-Studium oder eine vergleichbare Ausbildung und etwa ein bis zwei Jahre Berufserfahrung vorweisen. Von großer Bedeutung ist zudem eine ausgeprägte persönliche Leidenschaft für Social Media. Neben einer kreativen Ader für die Erstellung von zielgruppenspezifischem Content stellen insbesondere strategische Kompetenzen eine wichtige Voraussetzung dar. Zusätzlich zur deutschen Sprache wird vor allem sicheres Englisch als wesentliche Fremdsprache im Social Media Management erwartet. Die zentralen Soft Skills Organisationsfähigkeit, Flexibilität und Sprachgefühl runden das Profil ab. Eine qualitative Inhaltsanalyse sowie eine Befragung von Mediaplanern zeigen auf, dass analytisches Denkvermögen, der gute Umgang mit dem Softwareprogramm MS Excel und starkes Interesse an der Entwicklung neuer Medien unabdingbar sind. Die Soft Skills Teamwork, gutes Präsentieren und Belastbarkeit sind jedoch ebenso relevant und bestimmen seine Arbeit mit. Für Berufsinteressierte und Lehrende bedeuten diese Erkenntnisse, dass eine interaktive und praktisch angewandte Lehre zur Vorbereitung auf den Beruf notwendig ist. Allem voran ist es aber unvermeidbar, das Lehrmaterial auf sämtlichen Ebenen in kurzen und regelmäßigen Abständen an die aktuellsten technischen sowie medialen Entwicklungen anzupassen. Nur so können zukunftsorientierte Mediaplaner ausgebildet werden.
