Die effektive Belastung von Erwerbseinkommen unterschiedlicher Haushaltstypen seit 1986
Dieser Beitrag untersucht, wie sich die effektive Belastung der Einkommen verschiedener Haushaltstypen mit Steuern und Abgaben in Deutschland zwischen 1986 und 2021 entwickelt hat. Mithilfe des ifo-Mikrosimulationsmodells und unter Berücksichtigung der Realeinkommensentwicklung zeigen wir, dass die durchschnittliche Belastung durch Einkommensteuer und Solidaritätszuschlag deutlich zurückgegangen ist. Ein moderater Anstieg der Sozialversicherungsbeiträge wirkt diesem Trend teilweise entgegen. Diese Befunde haben für alle untersuchten Haushaltstypen und über die gesamte Einkommensverteilung hinweg Bestand. Unsere Ergebnisse sind für eine evidenzbasierte Debatte zu künftigen Einkommensteuerreformen relevant.
