Die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung im Ausland : Unterschiede zwischen den Ländern werden größer

Die Erholung der Weltwirtschaft von der pandemiebedingten Rezession setzt sich fort. Insbesondere in den fortgeschrittenen Volkswirtschaften wurden vor dem Hintergrund der Impffortschritte vielerorts Eindämmungsmaßnahmen gelockert und die Wirtschaftsaktivität auch in den zuvor eingeschränkten Dienstleistungsbereichen ausgeweitet. Gleichzeitig wird die Wirtschaftsentwicklung, nicht zuletzt in den USA, durch umfangreiche geld- und fiskalpolitische Maßnahmen unterstützt. Im Verarbeitenden Gewerbe, wo die Erholung schon weiter vorangeschritten ist, dämpften zuletzt allerdings Lieferengpässe bei Vorprodukten und stark gestiegene Transportkosten und Rohstoffpreise die Produktion. Da in vielen Schwellen- und Entwicklungsländern der Anteil der Geimpften an der Bevölkerung bislang noch sehr gering ist, besteht insbesondere dort weiterhin das Risiko von starken Anstiegen der Infektionszahlen, deren Auswirkungen die wirtschaftliche Erholung der betroffenen Länder zunächst noch deutlich bremsen. Für den Prognosezeitraum ist für die Weltwirtschaft alles in allem ein starkes Wachs- tum zu erwarten. Mit fortschreitender Erholung der Wirtschaft dürfte die Dynamik dabei im Verlauf nachlassen. Nach 6,0% im laufenden Jahr, ist für das BIP im kommenden Jahr ein Anstieg um 4,6% zu erwarten, bevor das Wachstum im Jahr 2023 auf 3,0% zurückgehen dürfte. Im Einklang damit dürfte der Welthandel in diesem Jahr noch eine sehr hohe Zuwachsrate aufweisen, bevor sich auch hier die Dynamik spürbar verlangsamt. Nicht zuletzt die stark gestiegenen Preise für Energie und Rohstoffe tragen dazu bei, dass die Inflationsraten im laufenden Jahr vielerorts deutlich erhöht sind. Mit dem Auslaufen der Basiseffekte, die sich durch das niedrige Vergleichsniveau in der ersten Phase der Pandemie ergeben, und dem Abbau pandemiebedingter Verwerfungen in den Produktions- und Lieferketten dürfte die Preisdynamik im Verlauf des Prognosezeitraums jedoch wieder spürbar abnehmen. Allerdings stellen anhaltend erhöhte Inflationsraten ein Risiko für die weitere wirtschaftliche Entwicklung dar, weil Notenbanken sich zu einer vorzeitigen geldpolitischen Straffung gezwungen sehen könnten.
