Diffusion and impacts of satellite-supported telematics for road transport congestion management

In der Entwicklung der Verkehrstelematik in Europa setzt man auf den kombinierten Einsatz von Informations-, Kommunikations- und Satellitennavigationssystemen nicht nur in den klassischen Sektoren des Bahn-, Schiffs- und Flugverkehrs, sondern vermehrt im individuellen Straßenverkehr. Europäische Automobilhersteller versuchen, Kunden mit dem Einbau von satellitengestützten Telematikgeräten in Neuwägen zu gewinnen. Die konzeptuelle Basis dieser Arbeit ist die Diffusionstheorie. In Kapitel II wird die satellitengestützte Telematik in den Straßenverkehr eingebettet und unterschiedliche Erscheinungsformen in Kapitel III erläutert. Kapitel IV beschreibt die wichtigsten Merkmale von Diffusionsprozessen von Innovationen und deren Einflussfaktoren. Im empirischen Teil dieser Arbeit wird die Diffusion von satellitengestützten Telematiksystemen in Neuwägen modelliert und die Aufnahme im Europäischen Markt prognostiziert. Fünf Automobilhersteller haben dafür in persönlichen Interviews die Verkaufszahlen dieser Innovation von 1994 bis 2003 im Raum der EU 15 zur Verfügung gestellt. Im abschließenden Kapitel V werden alle verkehrsrelevanten Auswirkungen der satellitengestützten Telematik erörtert. Das Diffusionsmodell von Bass, das die Grundlage für die Modellierung der Verbreitung von satellitengestützter Telematik darstellt, basiert auf der Annahme, dass die Kaufwahrscheinlichkeit in linearem Zusammenhang mit der Anzahl aller Käufer aus den Vorperioden steht. Diese Annahme beruht auf der vehaltenstheoretischen Begründung, dass Erstkäufe von satellitengestützten Telematikgeräten sowohl von Innovatoren als auch Imitatoren getätigt werden. Im Gegensatz zu Innovatoren werden Imitatoren in Ihrer Erstkaufentscheidung von allen Käufern beeinflusst, die bereits ein satellitengestütztes Telematikgerät gekauft haben. Das Ergebnis der Modellparameterschätzung mittels bivariater Regressionsanalyse zeigt einen guten Fit mit den beobachteten Werten und daher eine plausible künftige Entwicklung der Verbreitung satellitengestützter Telematikgeräte in Neuwägen in Europa.
