Discussion Technique and its Role in Enhancing Creative Thinking of Iraqi University Students

The present paper aims at investigating the impact of discussion technique at developing creative thinking skills for students of Iraqi University students, the researcher uses an experimental method for the research sample, who are second year students at the Department of English - College of Education in the academic year 2022-2023, the researcher uses a set of statistical methods to find reliability and stability of the creative thinking scale. The most important findings of the research are: The results show that there are statistically significant differences between the experimental and control group due to the experimental method. This may be due to the discussion technique as one of the important and effective technique in attracting students’ attention and prompting them to reflect on the subject’s data. Students are urged to reveal new expressive abilities that are triggered to appear to the surface by the discussion technique. It’s proved that the experimental group outperforms the control group, and the researcher suggests the necessity of adopting the discussion technique in the lesson as a scale in creative thinking
