Economic Growth and Stock Prices : An Empirical Analysis with Panel Data (1999-2007)

In the present paper it will be shown that in country level economic growth has a positive impact on stock prices in the long run. This study refers annually to the Western Europe, Japan and the United States during the period 1999-2007. Therefore, any factor favoring economic growth should be encouraged, while any factor that is an obstacle to economic growth should be discouraged. Data source is Eurostat and the panel data ere elaborated through the Eviews software package
