Education and Development or Emigration and Remittances : The Cape Verdean Dilemma

Cape Verde is a country prone to droughts with few natural resources and a significant emigration rate. However, the nation is known for its stable political and economic environment. This case study will address several questions. Should Cape Verde continue to develop educational and professional opportunities to decrease imports, increase exports, and decrease emigration? Or, are emigration and the remittances sent back to Cape Verde the best for a tiny nation that at times struggles to provide food for its citizens?
