La Efectividad Del Cooperativismo Como Política Reductora De Pobreza : El Caso Del Distrito Capital De Venezuela En 2006 (The Cooperative Movement's Effectiveness as a Poverty Reduction Policy: The Case of Venezuela's Capital District in 2006)

Con el objetivo de evaluar la efectividad del Gobierno para transmitir los conocimientos básicos sobre el cooperativismo al grupo objetivo del plan de desarrollo 2001-2007 y saber si la calidad del conocimiento sobre el cooperativismo entre cooperativistas fue un factor importante para que los asociados pobres pudieran salir de la pobreza, se evaluó el conocimiento sobre el cooperativismo que tenía una muestra de trabajadores informales pobres y otra de cooperativistas en el Distrito Capital en 2006. El muestreo realizado para encuestar a los trabajadores informales pobres fue del tipo accidental, mientras que el muestreo de los cooperativistas fue probabilístico. La muestra de trabajadores informales mostró un bajo conocimiento sobre el cooperativismo, mientras que la de cooperativistas mostró un elevado conocimiento. Sin embargo, se encontró que el poder reductor de pobreza del cooperativismo dentro de la muestra de cooperativistas fue bajo. In order to assess the government’s effectiveness in transmitting basic knowledge about the cooperative movement to its declared target group in the development plan of 2001-2007, and to know whether the quality of knowledge about the cooperative movement within cooperative members was a relevant factor allowing poor members to escape from poverty, surveys to samples of poor informal workers and cooperative members in the Capital District were carried out to measure knowledge about the cooperative movement in 2006. The sampling method used for the sample of poor informal workers was accidental, whereas a probabilistic sampling method was used with the sample of cooperative members. The sample of informal workers showed low knowledge about the cooperative movement, while that of cooperative members showed high knowledge. Nevertheless, poverty reduction within the sample taken from the cooperative movement was low
