Effects of Digitalization of Teaching on Student Grades

The COVID-19 government measures coerced instructors to immediately change the teaching and examination formats. We analyze the situation at German business and economics faculties and provide evidence on how the sudden digitalization affects examination results. We show that courses taught digitally during the pandemic as well as paper examinations and e-assessments were associated with deteriorated grades
