Ein Ansatz zur Erklärung des Wachstums der Mitgliederzahlen bei Kreditgenossenschaften
Zusammenfassung Die deutschen Kreditgenossenschaften verzeichnen seit mehreren Jahrzehnten einen stetigen Mitgliederzuwachs. Über die Bestimmungsfaktoren dieses Wachstumsprozesses ist jedoch wenig bekannt. Dieser Beitrag unternimmt einen ersten Versuch, das Wachstum der Mitgliederzahlen durch die Faktoren „Fusionsaktivität“ und „Dividendenrendite“ zu erklären. Es stellt sich heraus, dass die absolute und die relative Dividendenhöhe keine Rolle für den Mitgliederzuwachs spielt. Fusionen führen hingegen tendenziell zu steigenden Mitgliederzahlen.
