Employee Theft : Company's Assets at Risk

Although most owners and managers would like to think they have complete control over every aspect of their business, they are wrong; there is always something going on which they don't know. Unfortunately employee theft is a common occurrence in companies that often goes unnoticed for lengthy time periods, and sometimes may be completely undetected. Theft causes losses that reduce company profits, so assets need to be protected at all times. This qualitative report focuses on the various types of employee theft ranging from merchandise theft to embezzlement. It also reports on research and provides options to deter and prevent employee theft. Three criminal court cases are reviewed and summarized to show examples of the seriousness of embezzlement
