English Abstract: The main mission of agriculture is to ensure food security and increase the welfare of the population. The influence of natural factors on the sustainable development of the agricultural sector is still great. Long-term state support tools, development of technical, technological and insurance systems are important for the management of these risks. The development of agriculture in the Republic of Armenia is considered a priority. At present, the developmentof agriculture is hindered by a number of factors, such as high risk of farming, small size of farms, land fragmentation, low share of large commodity farms, insufficient co-operation of farmers, productive market infrastructure. In modern conditions, the main criterion for the efficiency of agricultural production is the level of competitiveness of economic entities. At the same time, due to the global socio-economic, geopolitical and environmental problems, the country's food security, production and resource potential of the agro-industrial complex, and the sustainable development of all agricultural production can be prioritized
