Essays in Political Economy (Theoretical an Applied Aspects). Chapter 1. Essays on the Gold Question

Introducing to the judgement of respectable public part of this work related to economic aspects of "the Gold question," from the very beginning we want to protect themselves from an incorrect interpretation of two things. First of all we want to draw attention to the fact that in the present work, we don't discuss the issue of the discovery of gold and the consequences of this discovery, and more narrow topic of the economic consequences of the increase of the gold reserves. There are two problems which, although not directly related to each other, to some extent interrelated. Within the first is the factor, "running" the process of mass migration of peoples (which led to rapid colonization and final settlement of people in areas, where the absence of such incentives would have developed long and uneven, and all the social and political consequences of this resettlement as for Europe, and for the regions in which were found these fields. At the other end of the discussion, we consider the influence of surplus of money on production and international trade, and private capitals; and this work is about the "Gold question" is devoted to the solution of the latter problem.
