Evaluation of the Acceptance and Perceived Satisfaction of Filipino Online Gamers on an Nft Game Using Modified Utaut2 Model
Non-fungible token (NFT) games like Axie Infinity, Gods Unchained, & Splinterlands and their play-to-earn concept started gaining popularity in third-world countries like the Philippines. The large player base yet lack of available literature prompted the researchers to conduct a study that aims to evaluate the acceptance of an NFT game and its perceived satisfaction among Filipino users using structural equation modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The model is based on a modified unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2). The online questionnaire was answered by 773 respondents. The top predictor for the Behavioral Intention is Economic drive, followed by Habit, Performance Expectancy, Hedonic Motivation, and Effort Expectancy. The moderating effects of demographic factors to these significant relationships were also studied. Satisfaction was confirmed from actual use of the game. The model fit is good, having SRMR value of 0.071. The findings in this study could serve as basis for cryptocurrency market studies, NFT game development, and other blockchain applications
