Fécondité des mariages dans le quart Sud-Est de la France de 1670 à 1829
Henry Louis. ? Marital Fertility in the South Eastern Region of France between 1670 and 1829. This is the last of a series of four papers concerned with marital fertility between the end of the 17th and the beginning of the 19th century in four large regions of France : the South West, the North West, the North East and the South East. Six periods of marriage, alternately of 20 and 30 years in length, beginning with 1670-1689 and ending with 1790-1819 were studied. During that period, the fertility of all couples, of all fertile couples, sterility and childlessness were considered, as well as the age of the mother at the birth of her last child and pre-marital conceptions. Special attention was given to the transition from a system of presumed natural fertility to one in which there was a voluntary limitation of births.
