Fertigungstiefe: Ballast oder Kapital? Stand und Effekte von Out- und Insourcing im Verarbeitenden Gewerbe Deutschlands
Die Beschränkung auf Kernkompetenzen und ein verstärktes Outsourcing zur Reduzierung der Fertigungstiefe sind wenig in Frage gestellte Leitsätze zur Steigerung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit in globalen Märkten. Spezialisierte kleine Unternehmenseinheiten in flexibel konfigurierten Wertschöpfungsketten werden als Zukunftsvision den "Old Economy" Firmen entgegengehalten, die eine hohe Wertschöpfung mit großer Fertigungstiefe realisieren. Wie die Auswertung der ISI-Produktionsinnovationserhebung zeigt, ist das Verarbeitende Gewerbe in Deutschland von diesem Zukunftsbild zu Recht noch weit entfernt. Im Mittel liegen die Eigenleistungsanteile in der Fertigung bei 75 Prozent, in der Entwicklung bei 69 Prozent und in der EDV bei 62 Prozent. Es wurde deutlich, dass diese Quoten in der Entwicklung und der Fertigung keinen Rückstand bedeuten, sondern den Unternehmen in ihrer Innovationskraft, ihrer Flexibilität am Markt und in ihrer Ertragskraft Vorteile verschaffen. Fertigungstiefe ist damit kein Ballast, sondern ein wichtiger Teil ihres Kapitals. Vor diesem Hintergrund sind zukünftig Kooperationsmodelle gefragt, die die Agilitätsvorteile flexibel vernetzter Spezialisten integrieren, ohne die Synergievorteile von hohen Fertigungstiefen bei den kooperierenden Firmen in Frage zu stellen.
