Financial Regulation Reforms and the Future of the City of London

In February 2021 the Treasury Committee issued a call for written evidence on the broader question of the future of financial services in the UK. The timing of this call for evidence shows the urgency brought by two coinciding situations: one being the post-Brexit scenario and the attendant risks and opportunities arising from the new regulatory environment; the other one being the more general scope of financial regulation in a world that is consistently moving towards digitalisation and disintermediated platforms (what has come to be referred to as FinTech).
