Foreign Direct Investment in South Asian LDCs : Bangladesh in Priority
This paper reveals the present FDI climate and scenario in Bangladesh and compares this scenario with other South Asian LDCs measuring FDI inflows, outflows and component wise inflows. Econometric investigation shows that total investment, domestic investment, BOP, GNI, national savings and employment is significantly affected by inflows of FDI in Bangladesh. The study considers FDI scenario of other South Asian LDCs, their priority sectors, investment facilities and international investment agreements and the problems faced by South Asian LDCS are also mentioned in this study. According to this paper, Bangladesh is in better-off position compare to other south Asian LDCs in case of FDI absorption capacity and future prospect as well
