Government Communication and the Mass Mediated Debate : Decision Making, System Integration and Public Communication

Much has been written about government communication and also about climate change and its consequences. This paper puts these two perspectives together and asks how government communication can contribute or, at worst, even be an obstacle to a reasonable approach concerning the “treatment” of global warming. This then serves as an interesting example to better understand general decision making and system integration as function of public communication. The authors conclude by making recommendations for global communication and how it could benefit from particular theoretical approaches in the field of PR research
