Green Hydrogen Economy Research : Where are We Stand? Scientometric Analysis of Past Twenty Years
To mitigate the consequences of climate change, the world agreed to reduce global warming 1.5 - 2 °C in COP21. Green hydrogen can meet net-zero targets, energy demand, enhance the local market, economic growth of the countries. Hence, we evaluated the 1800 hydrogen economy articles (from 2003-2022) in Web of Science database by using scientometric tool. We considered various bibliometric indicators such as altmetric scores, spatial contribution, author distribution, citations, funding, institutions and research outcomes by the countries to understand the major research pattern. Looking to the most used keywords and its’ co-occurrence networks; the results revealed three different groups of keywords in the domain of green-hydrogen research. China, USA, UK and Korea were the leading countries in hydrogen economy research. ACPP value was highest for Germany (110.14) and lowest for India (39.94). Maximum MCP ratio was found for Australia (0.443) and minimum for Spain (0.178). Results shows, there is a need of more research on hydrogen economy to reduce GHGs emissions, technical and financial barriers especially in developing countries
