Green Supply Chain Management Application Strategy In Nepalese Garment Industry
Green supply chain management (GSCM) has become an increasingly important strategy for organizations seeking to reduce their environmental impact and improve their sustainability performance. The Nepalese garment industry, which is known for its high resource consumption and environmental impact, has recognized the importance of GSCM and has been implementing various GSCM application strategies. This systematic review aims to identify the effective GSCM application strategies that have been implemented in the Nepalese garment industry and their impacts on sustainability performance. A comprehensive literature search was conducted using several databases, including Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar using PRISMA guidelines. The inclusion criteria were studies published between 2010 and 2022 and written in English. The search strategy was designed using a combination of keywords related to GSCM, garment industry, Nepal, and sustainability. The screening process was conducted in two stages: title and abstract screening, followed by full-text screening. A total of 31 studies were included in the review, which underwent quality assessment and data extraction. The studies revealed that the most commonly used GSCM strategies in the Nepalese garment industry were eco-design, green sourcing, green production, green logistics, and end-of-life management. These strategies were found to have a significant positive impact on sustainability performance, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, minimizing waste generation, and conserving natural resources. Additionally, the adoption of GSCM strategies was found to have positive effects on economic and social performance, such as improving supply chain efficiency, enhancing brand reputation, and promoting employee well-being. The findings of this systematic review provide valuable insights into the effective GSCM application strategies that have been implemented in the Nepalese garment industry and their impacts on sustainability performance. The review highlights the importance of GSCM in the garment industry and supports the need for continued efforts to promote sustainable practices in the industry. The review also highlights the need for further research to explore the barriers and challenges to implementing GSCM strategies in the Nepalese garment industry. This systematic review provides a comprehensive overview of the effective GSCM application strategies that have been implemented in the Nepalese garment industry and their impacts on sustainability performance. The findings of this review can help organizations in the Nepalese garment industry to develop and implement effective GSCM strategies, which can not only reduce their environmental impact but also improve their economic and social performance
