Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading--From Traditional Institutions to Vietnam's FTAs

The paper analyzes regulations on greenhouse gas emissions trading rights according to provisions of the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, and the 2015 Paris Agreement – which are considered traditional sources of international environmental law on this subject. At the same time, the article will analyze the provisions of the new-generation FTAs of which Vietnam is a member, including the CPTPP, EVFTA, and VN-EAEU FTA. The authors also review, evaluate, and compare the legal system of Vietnam to that of some related countries, thereby providing experiences for Vietnam
