How Secondary Capital Market Work in the United States
This paper provides an introduction to U.S. secondary capital markets that may guide countries to enhance emerging markets of their own. The focus is specifically on four issues, namely: trading in U.S. capital market; major clearing and settlement systems for U.S. government securities and corporate bonds and stocks; the information role of secondary markets; and, the role of government.
