ifo Weltwirtschaftsklima erleidet erneuten Rückschlag : Ergebnisse des 143. World Economic Survey (WES) für das erste Quartal 2019

Das ifo Weltwirtschaftsklima ist zum vierten Mal in Folge gefallen. Der Indikator sank im ersten Quartal von – 2,2 auf – 13,1 Punkte. Die Lagebeurteilung und die Erwartungen verschlechterten sich deutlich. Die Experten schätzten die Lage aber immer noch knapp positiv ein (vgl. Abb. 1). Die Weltkonjunktur schwächt sich zunehmend ab. Das Wirtschaftsklima verschlechterte sich vor allem in den fortgeschrittenen Volkswirtschaften (vgl. Abb. 2). Dabei stachen insbesondere die USA mit einem Einbruch der Erwartungen und der Lagebeurteilung heraus. Aber auch für die Europäische Union revidierten die Experten ihre Einschätzungen deutlich nach unten. Dagegen blieb das Wirtschaftsklima in den Schwellen- und Entwicklungsländern weitgehend unverändert, nachdem es in den zwei Quartalen zuvor jeweils stark rückläufig war. Im Nahen Osten und in Nordafrika kühlte sich das Klima deutlich ab. Die Experten erwarteten weltweit ein schwächeres Wachstum des privaten Konsums, der Investitionen und des Handels (vgl. Abb. 7). Zwar ging weiterhin ein größerer Teil der Befragten von einem Anstieg der kurz- und langfristigen Zinsen aus, deren Anteil ist aber stark zurückgegangen (vgl. Abb. 8). Sie rechneten mit einer weltweiten Abwertung des US-Dollar.
