Implications for the Nicaraguan economy of the association agreement with the European Union
The Association Agreement between Central America (CA) and the European Union (EU) has three pillars: political dialogue, cooperation, and trade. Nicaragua has the lowest volume of trade with the European continent. Politically, Europe has been a very important companion to lay the foundations of peace and democracy in the region. Cooperative relations between the EU and Nicaragua date back more than three decades. In this paper the main results and their implications for the Nicaraguan Economy of the negotiations of the Association Agreement (AA) between the European Union and Central America are analyzed.
