Implications of Sectors Economic Intensification on Youth Unemployment in Case of East African Countries
The issue of economic intensification is a stipulation of expanding economic triggers of different sectors like Industrialization, agriculture value add, service and infrastructures. Youth unemployment is much challenged economic and human capital crisis that has been aggravated the frequent economic crises. To investigate the implications of sectors economic intensification on youth unemployment in east African countries panel data from2007-2016 has been used. To analysis the Random Effect model was used. The model was supposed to be used based on the hausman specification test. Results of the study verify that, foreign direct investment, vulnerable to employment, access to internet, volume of export are negatively affected youth unemployment at 10% level of significance. While other variables like agriculture value add, manufacturing value add, dependency ratio and education positively affected youth unemployment in east African countries. Given the results the research recommendations recommended as; policy makers should focus on the strategies that can enhance investments associated with agriculture, industry and service that can increase economic sector’s labor absorptive capacity
