Importance of AOC signals in wine cooperative localization: the case of Gironde
The search to reduce agricultural production pollution depends on agricultural land location. Reflections on suburban areas managing (short circuits, land location to urban centers ...) experiencing a revival over the past ten years. But these suburban areas are subject to numerous land use conflicts (Cadena, 1990; Torre and Caron, 2005. In land economics rent determines land allocation. What is the importance of quality signal in the agricultural land choice location? This article aims to show that quality signal is determinant on land prices (Peres, 2009, 2007). Attachment to soil characteristics in AOC signal, linking inseparably holdings to a place and therefore prohibited nomadism, may characterize products affect land use location (Filippi, Frey and Torre, 2009). How cooperative actors raising AOC to better develop production and resist to the land pressure? We mobilize wine cooperatives location information in the Gironde area: Bordeaux suburban vineyards are an ideal framework for analyzing interactions issues between urban growth and specific wine dynamic. The discrete choice model confirms the AOC resistance phenomena and also provides a tool for assessing the cooperation effects between stakeholders. This article is a first attempt to analyze the wine cooperative system in French by using land prices.
