Increasing the cost-effectiveness of small solar photovoltaic pumping systems
Small photovoltaic pumping systems are needed in many parts of the world but are at present too expensive for most users. The cost can be reduced by using optical concentrators to reduce the cost of solar electricity, and by developing more efficient pump-motor-controller systems. The cost reduction for a 300–500 W system should be by a factor between 2 and 3,for the same daily output of water.
