India's Free Trade Agreement with European Union

For over several years, since 2007, India and the European Union (EU) have been negotiating a free trade agreement (FTA). The nation is trying to tie-up the largest trade and investment deal. It deals with the liberalisation of goods in trade, the deregulation of services, investment and government procurement, the strict enforcement of intellectual property rights and some other Issues. Various controversial issues are yet to be resolved. Both sides want to give final shape to the negotiations but still it is not decided. The paper focuses on some of the areas that are likely to affect the marginalised group of India adversely. It recommends how both parties conclude the negotiations ensuring its mutual benefits.
