Indigenous Innovation and Regional Economic Growth : The Impact of Technological Achievements Flow and the Export Technical Sophistication of China's High-Tech Industry

Using panel data on 28 provinces and autonomous regions in China from 2010 to 2019, this study shows that the positive moderating effect of the export technical sophistication of high-tech industry on the relationship between indigenous innovation and economic growth. This study proves that indigenous innovation has a significant and positive double threshold effect on regional economic growth under the effect of technological achievements flow of high-tech industry, but the positive effects are not always strengthening. The positive effect of indigenous innovation on economic growth shows a trend—that is, a strengthen gradually and then a weaken gradually—when the technological achievements inflow of high-tech industry in high-tech products market in the region gradually increases.
