Indirect Constitutional Protection of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Nigeria
This chapter examines the indirect protection of economic, social and cultural rights in Nigeria by examine the rights not expressly included in the Bill of Rights contained in Chapter 4 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Constitution). What approximate to economic, social and cultural rights are contained in Chapter 2 of the Constitution in the form of fundamental objectives and directive principles of state policy. These objectives and principles are widely seen as exhortations to all branches of government, declaring certain national governance standards in all spheres of endeavour
