Biotechnology has been described as a pervasive and disruptive technology. Pervasive in the sheer number of industries it can influence and disruptive in the effect it can have on these. In particular, as well as driving advances in pharmaceutical and healthcare, it has the potential to change many processes within traditional industries for the better.
