INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF ENTERPRISES: THE ESSENCE AND FEATURES IN THE SPHERE OF TRADE

A critical analysis was made as regards definitions of the term "innovative development" applied at both the macro- and microlevels of government. Interrelation between innovation development and innovation acfivity, innovation policy and innovation strategy of an enterprise was elicited. The features of modern innovation policy in trade and possible restrictions in its formation were idenfified. The essence of the concept of innovative development of a trade enterprise was refined. The most appropriate and common innovative strategies currently used in the trade: traditional, opportunistic and offensive, were characterized and compared.
