Insolvenzgeschehen in Deutschland: Corona-Pandemie hinterlässt erste Spuren
Die Corona-Pandemie beeinträchtigt die Geschäfte vieler Unternehmen massiv. Dennoch ist es im vergangenen Jahr nicht zu einem Anstieg an Firmenpleiten gekommen. Im Gegenteil: Die Zahl der Insolvenzen ist über den seit Jahren rückläufigen Trend hinaus gesunken. Die noch bis Ende April geltende Aussetzung der Insolvenzantragspflicht und die Hilfeleistungen für Betriebe verschleiern jedoch das wahre Ausmaß der Probleme im Unternehmenssektor. Dieses wird sich frühestens im Laufe des aktuellen Jahres zeigen. Die Insolvenzen könnten dann erheblich steigen, denn in vielen Unternehmen gehen die Eigenkapitalpuffer zu Neige. Gemessen am Insolvenzgeschehen der vergangenen Jahre ist damit zu rechnen, dass bis zu 4 500 Firmenpleiten "nachgeholt" werden. Trotz der geringeren Insolvenzfälle im vergangenen Jahr sind in der Statistik bereits erste Spuren der Corona-Pandemie sichtbar: So lag das Volumen der voraussichtlichen Forderungen von GläubigerInnen um fast 21 Milliarden Euro höher als im Durchschnitt der Jahre 2014 bis 2019. Die Zahl der betroffenen Beschäftigten überstieg den langjährigen Durchschnitt um fast 60 000 Personen. Das Insolvenzgeschehen hat ökonomisch also bereits deutlich an Bedeutung gewonnen.
