International Regulation v. National Regulation on Offshore Oil Exploitation - The USA as an Example

The world is currently addicted to its main energy source – oil. The oil demand resulted in the inception of deep and ultra-deep offshore oil exploitation, an inherently dangerous activity. Following an introduction, this article looks at the marine pollution from offshore operations. It also focuses on the international regulation consisting of international and regional agreements regarding offshore exploitation. The article is rounded off with the analysis of US regime on offshore facility liability
