Internationalisation of Higher Education for Tourism Industry to Boost the Students’ Competency-Based Development

This article offers a combination of three important topics – professional competency-based education, academic and professional internationalisation as a key trend within the Bologna process and professional development of tourism industry. The authors develop their ideas of holism in professional training for tourism and hospitality industries and add internationalisation as its core characteristic vital for tourism professionals as well as for the industries on the whole. The offered combination of professional competency-based education, internationalisation and professional development of tourism industry produce the necessary synergy able to boost the national economies of the countries committed to constant self-improvement
