Internet, Social Media, and the Globalization of Conflicts in the Middle East

This paper focuses on the impact of social media and the internet, as one aspect of globalization, on localized conflicts. The paper proposes that due to a variety of factors unique to the Middle East, the impact of social media may be expected to be greatest in the greater Middle East region. The theoretical argument is supported by a subsequent examination of several case studies and a review of the recent revolutionary movement in the Middle East. An annexed chart provides relevant data
