<p> In this paper we show the evolution of employment in the Spanish regions, analysing regional gaps having into account the main role that industrial investment has as a stimulating factor of output and employment of non-agrarian sectors, both from the supply and demand sides. All the Spanish regions must increase their industrial output per inhabitant in order to increase their non agrarian employment rates, due to the fact that there are important intersectoral relationships that can explain the growth of the output of the building and services sectors through the income of other sectors as manufacturing.
