[English Title] The Problem of Women’s Employment and Turkey [English Abstract] One of the main pillars in achieving economic development is human capital. Development of human capital is of utmost importance for developing countries such as Turkey. This development may be realized by adequate participation of women, who constitute 49.8% of the population of Turkey as per 2012 data, to the labor market. An important element of sustainable development, woman labor is unable to participate in the labor market, particularly in developing countries, due to various reasons lead by cultural factors, differences in the human capital level and public policies that regulate/affect the position of women in labor markets. This brings about such significant problems as underemployment, failure to increase the GDP, increase in poverty, and drop of productivity.
