Knowledge Democratization and Organizational Productivity

Humans are the centrepiece of all economic activity, economic activities themselves being the creations and contrivances of humans. Modern organizations are the outcome of human thought and ingenuity. Again, it is the human beings that propel organizations into thriving entities, economically and socially.A human being (H) has three distinct dimensions in relation to workplace in organizations, viz., the hand, the head and the heart, characterized here as the 3Hs. Society progressed based on different eras of the hand and the head, followed by era of the combination of the 3Hs. The authors attempt to trace this evolutionary phases of economy pointing out the by now well emerged knowledge era. It is the burden of this paper to bring out the desirable and definite shift from this current era of knowledge to an era of knowledgization. In turn, the era of knowledization is unmistakingly leading to knowledge democratization. Knowledge democratization, on one hand, bridges the so called knowledge divide and on other, it endeavours to levelling and convergence across different classes of knowledge. Knowledge democratization is a potential, unexplored means of improving organizational productivity. It brings in a paradigm shift in organizational theory and practice in terms of transiting from organizational sovereignty to people sovereignty
