Knowledge Sharing in Organizations – Its Nature, Barriers and Effects
Knowledge sharing process is an important element of numerous management concepts and determines knowledge development in organizations. This article relates to the basic level of knowledge sharing i.e. sharing knowledge between individuals in organizations. Basing on the literature research and the review of the approaches to knowledge sharing, the article aims to propose an approach to knowledge sharing, systematize knowledge sharing barriers and identify individual and organizational effects of that process. One of the conclusions is that there is a necessity of relating desirable effects (performance and organizational) of sharing knowledge in organization with proper selection of knowledge sharing forms and creating stimulating conditions considering knowledge sender and knowledge receiver. There is still need for more empirical research in this field.
